Tackling unusual Cable Problems is all in a day’s work for CDC Ltd.
Being approached by a customer to undertake a taping job seemed straight forward over 18 months ago.
However, with the end product being destined for delivery to a large German Manufacturer we soon learned that there was a whole range of constraints on this simple taping job.
Despite this, the end product will be undergoing initial production trials at the end of August and so watch this space for further news about this project.
Working in cooperation with a UK telescopic mast manufacturer, CDC Ltd has just installed a large custom made composite retractable coiled cable capable of extended up to 20m.
The cable contains both coaxial and control cables and is used on a mobile ground station for tracking aircraft during flight.
Following 3 years of research, cable development and life testing CDC Ltd has been successful in securing a contract to supply a suite of 5 Custom Cables to be used on Full Body Scanners.
The composite cables are made up of data, coaxial and power cables and are designed specifically to withstand the repetitive flexing required by the operation of the scanner whilst transmitting vital information back to the medical staff.
